Things to Do
The Hocking Hills
region offers many places to visit and fun things to do.
From Ohio State Parks like Hocking Hills State Park and Lake
Hope State Park to the covered bridges of Vinton County,
there are more attractions than you can count on both hands.
If you are looking for fun things to do as a family or as a
couple during your stay at Ravenwood Castle and Medieval
Village, we have listed a few below!
Hocking
Hills State Park:
Offers visitors to the
park over 25 miles of trails featuring unique recess caves,
sheer cliffs and awesome views. This Ohio State Park also
has a year-round naturalist with daily and/or weekly
programs.

Old Man's Cave
-Old Man's Cave is most likely the most popular
hiking region in the park. It features cascading
waterfalls, awesome cliff faces and unique rock
formations. Old Man's Cave trail is
approximately 1 mile long and takes about an hour to
hike. |

Ash Cave - Ash
Cave features a winding trail leading to the
largest recess cave in Ohio. There is an upper and
lower trail at Ash Cave, each one approximately a
1/2 mile long. It takes approximately a 1/2
hour to hike the trail. |

Cantwell Cliffs
- Cantwell Cliffs is one of the Hocking Hills' most
remote hiking regions. It is best known for its
winding passages, steep slopes and a rock shelter.
The trail is about a mile and takes 1- 1 1/12 hours
to hike |

Rockhouse -
Rockhouse offers visitors a glance into the past
(the area once housed a hotel and was an alleged
hideout for bandits), but also a wonderful cave-like
experience. The Rockhouse trail is about a 1/2 mile
long and takes 30 to 45 minutes to traverse. |

Cedar Falls
- Cedar Falls offers visitors a spectacular seasonal
waterfall, but also a beautiful trail surrounded by
towering, awesome hemlocks. The trail is about a 1/2
mile and takes about 40 minutes to hike.

| Conkle's
Hollow - Conkle's Hollow features rugged trails,
awesome views and a paved lower trail that is
wheelchair and stroller accessible. It has two
trails- an upper and a lower trail. The rim is 2 1/2
miles long and the lower trail is about a mile. It
takes about an hour and a half to 2 hours to hike
the rim or upper trail and about 1 hour to hike
the lower trail. |
Lake Hope
State Park: Has
a nature center with a year-round naturalist, historical
iron furnace and a lake. The park also has a mountain bike
trail and many hours of hiking trails.

Lake Hope -
Fishing, boating (limited horsepower) and swimming
are not the only activities found at the lake. A
trail also follows the edge for those who like
hiking.

Lake Hope was
once home to an iron furnace. Although little is
left to show for the town that was once nearby,
a trail winds through a pine forest with to the old
cemetery and miles of hiking beyond.

Zaleski State
Forest surrounds Lake Hope State Park and adds to
the almost 17 miles of trail at and around the park.
