Team Member: Pam Reed

Ravenwood: Tell us a bit about yourself.

Pam: I grew up in Northwest Ohio and I come from a very close family. I have been married for 17 years to my husband Jim.  In 2002 I became a full time mom when our daughter Ashley was born.  Two years later we were blessed with the birth of our second daughter Sarah.

I enjoy hiking, swimming, reading and having family quality time. Other than Ravenwood, my favorite vacation spots are Walt Disney World and anywhere a cruise ship takes me.

Ravenwood: What did you do before you joined Ravenwood Castle?

Pam: For the last twelve years I have been a full time mom. Before that I worked as a Real Estate agent, which I found to be very rewarding. My favorite part of the job was taking my clients around to find the house that best fit their needs and wants.

Ravenwood: What is the best part about working at Ravenwood Castle?

Pam: Meeting all of our great guests and helping them build memories that will last a lifetime.

I also enjoy planning events.  We have had many fun events but so far my favorite has been Alice in Ravenland.  The kids had so much fun with the characters from Alice in Wonderland and I am looking forward to doing it again.  Right now I am planning a few new events that I am very excited about.  You will have to stay tuned for our announcements on them.

Ravenwood:  I understand that you’re relatively new to the gaming that Ravenwood offers. What is your favorite game?

Pam: It is hard to pick as there are so many great games out there, but if I had to pick just one it would be Four Taverns by Rather Dashing Games.

You have three different quests that you can choose from, but to complete them you need to have enough party members.  It takes some time to build up enough cards (party members) and you always run the risk of another player getting the cards before you do.  I have had many laughs and good times playing this game with my family.

Ravenwood: What do you like best about the Hocking Hills area?

Pam: It is so peaceful and it is a great place to reconnect with nature. There are so many great activities that are available and the hiking is amazing!

There are also a lot of unique shops in the area.  The area has something to offer to everyone no matter how active or relaxed you want your vacation to be.

Jim Reed is a lifelong gamer who started with the original red box Dungeons & Dragons. After spending 20 years in the corporate world, he decided it was high time that work be fun and struck out on his own. Jim now owns and operates Ravenwood Castle, and spends his days ensuring his guests have as much fun as he does.
