Room Spotlight – Queen Victoria’s Suite

This week’s blog post – written by our Assistant Innkeeper, Abby Kutscher – shines the Room Spotlight on one of our most romantic castle guest rooms, Queen Victoria’s Suite.

Queen Victoria reigned the longest of any British monarch, and longer than any female monarch in history. Therefore, it is only suitable that Ravenwood Castle’s Queen Victoria Suite exudes feminine, romantic charm. Adorned in varying shades of red, this first floor bedroom is decorated in elegant Victorian furniture dating back to the 1860’s, making it a perfect choice for guests who are seeking that “castle feel”.

The queen sized bed features an ornately carved headboard. The cozy sitting area includes two antique chairs and a small sofa, all positioned in front of a charming gas fireplace. A marble-top vanity and a vintage Swinger sewing table complete the suite’s decor.

Queen Victoria's Suite

As with all of our castle rooms, the Queen Victoria Suite has its own full private bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo. The suite also features two large windows and a multitude of jeweled lamps which give the room a bright, cheery atmosphere day or night.

As befitting a queen, the suite commands a prime location in the castle. It sits right off of the Great Hall where catered-in buffet-style dinners are held on weekends and where a country breakfast is provided each morning. The suite also has its own private outdoor porch overlooking the grounds. The porch makes for a perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee and some good conversation in the early morning as the fog rolls in over the property, or to enjoy a glass of craft beer or wine as the sun sets over the treetops.

If you would like to live like a queen, are interested in Victorian history, or have a fascination for antiques, look no further than the Queen Victoria Suite at Ravenwood Castle!
