Activity Spotlight – Brewery 33
This week on Quoth the Raven we are spotlighting a local favorite of ours. Brewery 33, often referred to as Br3w3ry, located in Logan, Ohio is a short drive from the Castle and boasts an impressive, rotating lineup of 14 handcrafted beers (sometimes more!) and two sodas all year-round. All of these are made in-house by their master brewer and local, David Kornmiller.
Brewery 33 has a calendar packed full of live music, food trucks, and special events. They also partake in the Route 33 Brew Trail. It is one of seven breweries that guests must stop and visit on their journey. Guests collect stamps from all seven Brew Trail breweries to receive an Anchor Hocking Route 33 Brew Trail pint glass! For more information, check out the Brew Trail.
What else makes Brewery 33 a must-visit when you’re in the Hocking Hills area? Why their delicious brews of course! They feature experimental small batch beers, and Amy from Brewery 33 let us know that they have officially begun their Midweek Experi(mental) Sale! Guests visiting on Tuesday-Thursday can try something they are testing out, or a brew that’s in its early stages for only $3 a pint!
Currently they have two seasonals: Oktoberfest is a traditional Märzen-style German beer and a Fest Beer which a lighter version of Oktoberfest. Here’s a sample of what else you can find on tap now:
- Penny’s Porter: Slight caramel & toffee character with lop hop aroma. Refreshing raspberry flavor with a sweet vanilla finish. ABV: 4.8%, IBU: 24
- Logan Daily Dunkelweizen: A light copper to mahogany brown color. The use of traditional wheat malts and yeast makes this beer hazy and cloudy, true to the style. ABV: 5.1%, IBU: 14
- Rock House Red: Amber-colored red ale with caramel maltiness and locally sourced maple syrup. ABV: 6.2%, IBU: 30
Drinking beer can be hungry work and there are plenty of options at Brewery 33. If you’re feeling peckish, grab some Ohio-made snacks like Carolina Reaper Beef Jerky or Rue Farms Rustic Potato Chips. Or perhaps you’re hankering to try some local fare. Call in and order from places like the Hungry Buffalo or Millstone BBQ – then get it delivered right to you! Brewery 33 is also known for being a host for a variety of food trucks during the warmer months. Find a schedule under their Events tab on their website to discover what their food truck lineup is.
Brewery 33 offers “Military Appreciation Night” every Monday – a 10% discount for all active military members and veterans. And don’t worry – your furry four-legged friends are welcome as long as they’re on a leash. Not only that, but Brewery 33 is more than happy to provide snacks and a bowl of water to really make it a paw-ty!
Whether you stop by for a flight or take home a crowler, howler, or growler, you’re sure to find Brewery 33 a place to come back to over and over again.
