Ravenwood Castle’s Game Library
If you have been to Ravenwood before, you are familiar with our beautiful remote location in the heart of the Hocking Hills region. Our Castle is surrounded by half a dozen state and national forests and some of the most popular hiking trails in the area. The castle itself features on-site hiking trails and a variety of scavenger hunts designed to keep guests busy exploring the grounds.
Of course, not all of our activities require you to don your hiking boots and outdoor attire. There’s plenty to do inside as well, for those days when the weather is iffy, or when you’d just prefer to spend some quiet time indoors. Chief among these activities is our on site board game library. Our mission at Ravenwood Castle is to help you leave the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy time with family and friends, and we believe board gaming encapsulates that very notion.
With over 150 games, the Ravenwood Castle Game Library is accessible to all on-site guests. You’re welcome to play in the Great Hall, Pub, Library, or even in the comfort of your own accommodation! The disconnected nature of our location provides an ideal opportunity to enjoy some quality time with your family and friends, free of electronic interruptions. What better way to spend that time then bonding over a game of Catan or Castle Panic?
Check out some of these great titles the next time you stay with us:
- Dixit (3-6 players, 30 minutes, ages 8+) – Using a deck of cards illustrated with dreamlike images, players select cards that match a title suggested by the “storyteller”, and attempt to guess which card the “storyteller” originally selected.
- King of Tokyo (2-6 players, 30 minutes, age 8+) – In King of Tokyo, players take the role of mutant monsters, gigantic robots, and strange aliens, all of whom are intent on destroying Tokyo and whacking each other in order to become the one and only King of Tokyo.
- Spyfall (3-8 players, 15 minutes, age 13+) – Spyfall is a party game unlike any other. In this game each player takes the role of a spy, and attempts to determine what is going on around you. The game is played over several rounds, and at the start of each round all players receive cards showing the same location — a casino, a traveling circus, a pirate ship, or even a space station — except that one player receives a card that says “Spy” instead of the location. Players then start asking each other questions — “Why are you dressed so strangely?” or “When was the last time we got a payday?” or anything else you can come up with — trying to guess who among them is the spy. The spy doesn’t know where he is, so he has to listen carefully. When it’s his time to answer, he’d better create a good story!
These are just a few of the great titles available in our game library. The next time you visit us at Ravenwood Castle, grab a Butterbeer, a few games, and head back to your room for a night of relaxation and healthy competition.
Vacation unplugged… you’ll be glad you did!
