Activity Spotlight: High Rock Adventures
Rock climbing, rappelling, and workshops, oh my! If you’re looking to add some outdoor adventure to your Hocking Hills excursion, we know just the place. This week on Quoth the Raven we are shining a spotlight on High Rock Adventures which is a short drive from Castle, just north of Rockbridge, making it the perfect day trip during your next Castle stay.
High Rock isn’t just for expert rock climbers. Their mission is to engage nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. Guests can choose from a variety of courses that provide them with an immersive experience, leaving them with respect and appreciation for the environment around them – with a healthy dose of fun, of course! High Rock focuses on finding sustainable ways to provide guests with unique experiences all while taking care and honoring the Hocking Hills region and ecosystem.
If you’re feeling up for the challenge, you can sign up for one of their courses online. Fun fact: High Rock is actually the first and only on-site rappelling tour company in the area! If you’d rather try something a little less physical make sure to look into their Nature Therapy and Ecotours.
If you’re having a difficult time deciding which course to sign up for first, they have a package where you can not only rappel, but zipline too. Then again, perhaps your group is comprised of night owls that don’t want to wake up early to go adventuring. Fear not, for there is a package for nighttime rappelling! Beginning at sunset, the nighttime rappelling notes that no experience is necessary which makes it a perfect option for beginners. High Rock Adventures has a team of expert guides to make sure you have the best adventure possible, every time.
The history of High Rock Adventures is one for the books and can be credited to both Andy Matyac and Steve Roley. You can read more about the history of how High Rock came to fruition and more on their website. Click here to learn more!
On your next stay make sure to carve out some time to check out High Rock and try out a course or take advantage of their unique tour offerings. We can’t wait to hear about your adventures once you’re back at Ravenwood relaxing with a Castle Butterbeer in the Pub!
