Relax at Ravenwood

Ravenwood Castle offers the perfect escape for those seeking a peaceful getaway. Today we’re going to explore ways to relax and unwind on your next visit. Whether you’re gazing at the stars, enjoying the serenity of a salt cave, or spending a day by the water, there’s something for everyone looking to take a break from everyday life.

Kick Back at the Castle

Enjoy a night by the fire at the communal firepit between Baker’s and Brewer’s cabins. Grab your favorite drink from the Raven’s Roost Pub and head over to the Observation Deck for reflection and stillness. Borrow a book or a board game to play in the Great Hall, Pub, Library, or back in your room!

Stargazing in Hocking Hills

John Glenn Astronomy Park is a short drive from the Castle and features programs on weekend nights from March through November, weather permitting. On non-program nights, guests are invited to drive up and enjoy the space free of charge. Bring a telescope and a comfy chair. If you don’t have a telescope, binoculars are great to use on the night sky as well.  The best time for stargazing is specifically when it’s a new moon or a small crescent. A full moon can wash out the sky and as beautiful as it is, it can affect your view of the stars.

Treat Yourself

Everyone deserves a little pampering. The Hocking Hills area has a variety of options for spa services!

  • Hocking Hills Serenity Salt Cave – The handcrafted salt cave lets visitors experience the powerful effects of Himalayan Salt and Halotherapy for skin, respiratory ailments, and overall wellness.
  • Hocking Hills Traveling Massage – Book yourself a massage during your stay at Ravenwood. The best part? She can come right to you! Brooke is a licensed massage therapist and offers a variety of services like deep tissue work, reflexology sessions, and even hot stone massages.
  • Hocking Hills Sauna Pods – Book a barrel-shaped, cedar sauna featuring a floor-to-ceiling fish-eye window facing a Hocking Hills view.
  • Cedar Falls Spa – The spa’s woodland setting creates the perfect ambiance for a full day of peaceful restoration.

The state park offers picnicking, swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking opportunities. There are six picnic areas with large parking lots around the lake. Most areas have drinking water, grills and restrooms available. A 527-foot public swimming beach is located on the north shore of the lake on Lake Logan. Pack a bag and spend the day lakeside!
