The Ripper Ripoff – Dec 30th & 31st!

The 2024-2025 event season is well underway, and this week I am excited to announce the fifth mystery of the upcoming season. In this installment Chief Detectives Michelle and Ryan lead the Ravenwood Detective Agency in a New Year’s Eve edition of a classic, noir themed murder mystery. Please join us for the Ripper Ripoff…

Ravenwood Castle’s Great Hall was lit by the soft glow of chandeliers as guests in elaborate Victorian garb danced to the music of a bygone era. It was the evening of the annual New Year’s Eve costume ball, and the guests had pulled out all the stops in designing their attire. Those dressed as minor nobility danced alongside apparent street urchins, all while several versions of Queen Victoria herself looked on.

Perhaps the most original – not to mention disturbing – costume belonged to a young woman dressed as a victim of the notorious Jack the Ripper. With her attention to detail and artfully applied artificial injuries she seemed a shoe in to win the costume contest, that is until another young lady was discovered lying in a secluded corner of the Great Hall, adorned with even more lifelike knife wounds. Nearby guests began to commend her dedication to her costume, until they noticed the growing pool of blood. As whispers of a copycat killer spread throughout the castle, panic took hold, along with the grim realization that the evening’s costumed façade had become all too real.

Were the similarities in this killing to those perpetrated by the legendary Jack the Ripper coincidental, or had someone taken the evening’s Victorian theme a bit too seriously? Was this to be an isolated incident of violence, or was there a cold blooded serial killer hiding amidst the masked guests?

The Ravenwood Detective Agency is calling all agents, novice and veteran alike, to answer these questions and more. Join us December 30th & 31st for the Ripper Ripoff!

Tickets for The Ripper Ripoff are $100. As with all of our mysteries, the event starts after dinner on Monday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Monday evening.

And stay tuned for more announcements about our exciting 2024-2025 event season!
