Mead Tasting Weekend – June 6th & 7th!
I am thrilled to announce the next installment in our series of popular Tasting Weekends. This weekend has a special twist, as it will be the first Ravenwood Castle tasting weekend featuring mead! For those of you who are unfamiliar with these events, they aren’t your normal tasting dinner. These tastings last all weekend, and include two days full of good food, great beverages and awesome breweries, distilleries or in this case, meaderies! This next tasting event will be held June 6th & 7th, 2025, and spotlights Feisty Brood and McAlpine Meaderies.
Friday’s dinner features Feisty Brood Meadery out of Northeast Ohio. We will be joined by Brian McMillin from Feisty, who will share some of their amazing lineup of meads with us. Friday evening’s dinner will begin with garlic stuffed mushrooms paired with Sunshine Mead; spinach, cranberry, almond and goat cheese salad paired with Blackberry Mead; roasted pork loin with grilled asparagus and coleslaw paired with Zen Orange Blossom Mead; and strawberry basil cobbler paired with Coffee Adoration Mead. Dinner will be followed by an extra, after dinner sampling of a Barrel Aged Mead.
Saturday’s dinner features McAlpine Meadery, also out of Northeast Ohio, and a Silver Sponsor of our recent Hoop & Stick Con charity convention. Jess Kidd, owner of McAlpine, will join us to share some of their favorite meads. Saturday will begin with a welcome pour of Blood of My Enemies; followed by dinner featuring tomato basil balsamic bruschetta paired with Plum Mead; Greek salad paired with Wicked Peach; roasted chicken with sauteed onions peppers and wild rice paired with Raspberry Mead; and dark chocolate & raspberry cupcakes paired with Elderberry Mead.
As always we will also be offering a great lineup of beer, wine and spirits in the Pub all weekend, including more great mead varieties from Feisty and McAlpine.
Please join us June 6th & 7th for a weekend of great craft meads! Tickets are $100 per person and include dinner Friday and Saturday nights, and samplings of at least ten meads throughout the weekend. Click the “Reservation” button at the top of this page or call (740) 596-2606 to book your room now!
Please note that the event starts with dinner on Friday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.
