In the Activity Spotlight we highlight some of the many great activities available within a short drive from Ravenwood Castle. This week’s Activity Spotlight is written by our Assistant Innkeeper, Abby Kutscher.

Ravenwood Castle is a great place to come unwind. Nestled in the secluded woods of Hocking Hills, the castle is a remote and peaceful place to visit. Personally, I could stay curled up on a bench by the gardens and spend all day reading. However, many of our guests like to venture out during the day and we have plenty of delightful nearby attractions to point them towards!

The nearest of the larger towns in the area is Logan, Ohio. Just a 25 minute drive down Route 93, Logan offers some great dining options as well as other attractions like the pencil-sharpener museum and, one of my personal favorites, the Logan Antique Mall!

Ravenwood Castle’s neck-of-the-woods has quite a selection of antique malls and flea markets but most are only open on the weekends. The Logan Antique Mall, on the other hand, is open 7 days a week! Shopping at an antique mall is quite a different experience than shopping retail, but with over 100 vendors, you’re sure to find something you’ll like! The Logan Antique Mall carries items from the 1800s to the 1970s, as well as some more modern items thrown in for good measure. The mall is set up with different booths and – trust me when I say – you could spend several hours inside and still not see everything.

You will find everything from books to furniture, antique switchblades to records, and everything in between. And the deals truly can’t be beat!

So the next time you visit Ravenwood Castle, enjoy a different shopping experience and check out the Logan Antique Mall!
